INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Kiteboarding Geraldton – a website designed to assist both the novice kiteboarder through to the experienced exponent in the spectacular sport.
Kiteboarding Geraldton is operated by Lindsay Finlay.
Lindsay has been involved in wind sports in Geraldton for 28 years.
His experience speaks for itself and speaks volumes for his ability to assist in the kiteboarding pursuits of anybody keen to participate.
Lindsay was one of the first to start wind surfing on the local coast and opened his first shop for the sport in 1985.
He was among the first to sail at the Abrolhos Islands, kicked off shaping polyester boards in Geraldton and was selected into the WA State team for wind surfing in the process.
Lindsay was an original kiteboarder when the sport came to Geraldton in 2003. He was the first to bring the SLE (supported leading edge) bow style kite to the city. Seeing the potential he was the first to retail the gear locally, sourcing stock from the eastern sea board.
Another first was Lindsay’s kite school teaching with SLE using the safety of the full depower as a tuition aid . That school is ongoing after five years.
Lindsay is now the WA distributor for ZEEKO Kites and assumed this agency after realising the potential of the product.
